You might be weak, You might be strong

You might be weak; You might be strong

-Ishana Ghosh

Yes, it is possible
that you're weak at heart.
No, it is not impossible
that your strength and your cavalry
are the twin armours of a facade.
You could be just a clumsy
bundle of nerves, who's
always making a mess,
and it could be that you're not
the person, you so wanted to be.
Yes. That it could be,
even if others believe,
or have been made to believe
that strong is what you are,
brave is what you are; and
speaking of all that trust placed
on you, they think
worthy is what you are.
You've hidden it so well,
the fragility and the incompatibility,
and that too, for so long,
that even you let it slip through
your mind, that this
is not who you really are;
this person they know
is an impostor, who hides behind
white angel wings, with
deception as the only weapon in hand.
Rather, the only shield.
I'm not surprised at all,
as a witness to your confusion
as to who you should be now
and whether you can really be,
who you think you should be,
or more importantly,
you're confused as to who
and what defines your reality.
You're weak you say.
You don't deserve to be trusted, you say.
You've lost your sanity, you say.
So I say, forget it all.
You might be weak, you might be strong,
you don't have to overthink it all.
Think it through, one step at a time.
Make mistakes, you'll learn
that nothing ever matches
the 'true' definition of right.
So, if you don't know yourself,
that's totally fine;
after all, you still have
your entire lifetime.
But it is also true
that you can never really be happy
when that is what you're after.
Turning away from it all, won't help.
Only when you care and you pay attention
to whatever's happening around
the little space that you occupy,
can real happiness be found,
even if it's temporary, even if
the byproducts of it,
are pain and misery.
It is also very true,
and even if you must've realised
already, let me write it for you,
once again; it is true that
strength is not child's play,
that you can't just pretend to be strong,
if you are not strong already.
Strength is what you have,
if you have the courage to act strong
in front of the others,
at hard times like this.
So think twice before going to overthink
about what you did the other day,
and how weak it made you seem.
You're standing here today,
and that's proof enough
that you can do what you want to do,
only if you believe in you,
and that is something,
I trust, you can very well learn to do.
